$50 Steam Trap Rebates Now Available

Nicor Gas recently announced their Energy Efficiency Program that offers rebates to Business customers for the repair or replacements of failed steam traps.

A $50 per steam trap rebate is available for the repair or replacement of existing traps on all types of steam traps, regardless of the steam system’s operation. There is no limit to how many rebates you can receive.

Nicor Gas implemented their Energy Efficiency Program to promote the efficient use of natural gas. Repairing or replacing steam traps improves steam system efficiency and reduces the amount of natural gas required to meet end use requirements.

Steam traps last approximately 6 years and require periodic inspection and maintenance to ensure proper operation. Steam traps can fail in either an open or closed mode. If closed or blocked, steam traps can cause lower system performance issues because of condensate buildup in the steam space. If open or leaking, steam traps may allow excess steam to escape which increases the amount of steam that must be generated to meet end use requirements.

Nicor strongly recommends contacting an authorized HVAC contractor to inspect, repair or replace your steam traps to help qualify for the rebate. Affiliated Steam and Hot Water, located in Alsip, Ill., will recommend an authorized HVAC contractor that will analyze your existing steam traps and determine if they require repairs or replacement. The authorized HVAC contractor will help process all the necessary paperwork ensuring you get your rebate(s) from Nicor.

Affiliated Steam and Hot Water is ready to assist with the inspection, repair or replacement of your steam traps and help secure the $50 rebate. For more information call 800-424-5392 today or visit www.affiliatedsteam.com on the Internet.
