Regional Technical Sales Representative

(Western Iowa Territory)

Affiliated Steam & Hot Water is one of the industry’s leading manufacturer’s representative and distributor for industrial and institutional steam, hot water and heat transfer specialty products. With our reputation for exceptional customer service and a strong emphasis on energy conservation and thermal utility solutions, we are currently looking for someone to join our team as a Technical Sales Representative to service our Western Iowa territory.

As a technical sales professional at Affiliated Steam & Hot Water you will be able to confidently represent product lines that responsibly keep essential industries running while providing your customers with the solutions they need to achieve their own goals.

As a regional sales representative you will have the freedom to self-manage your territory in order to optimize your financial success while maintaining a compatible work-life balance.

What you will do:

  • Promote and propose a wide array of products relating to steam and hot water systems designed to provide the optimal solution to a client’s specific requirements
  • Establish rapport and maintain regular contact with existing and new customers within a defined geographical territory
  • Cultivate long term relationships creating customer loyalty
  • Research and propose solutions to facility and system problems
  • Offer technical information and support on products represented
  • Ensure clients are advised on product features and usage
  • Possess product knowledge through continuous education on existing and new products
  • Strategically manage territory
  • Work with an assigned inside sales team to ensure customer service excellence

Traits we’re looking for:

  • Strong interest in technical products and industries
  • Mechanical background and experience in a mechanical field or a mechanical engineering degree a plus
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and interest in self-managing a territory and client base
  • Effective time management skills
  • Knowledge of Office 365
  • Personable, flexible and a great communicator


  • Remote/Home Office position based in the Des Moines, Iowa area
